Santo Amaro, Cachoeira, Ilha De Mare

Who were Besouro, Traira and Valdemar?
Besouro Manganga was a legendary capoeirista from Santo Amaro in the early 20th century, who was believed to have supernatural powers. Mestre Waldemar was a popular master in Bahia from the 1940's onwards and Mestre Traira was one of his students.

Quem Nunca Viu, Venha Ver

This song calls for people to come and see the "licuri" (a small type of palm tree), break the "dende" (a much larger tree). It is meant to describe a small/inexperienced capoeirista outdoing a more experienced capoeirista in the roda.
